Charmed, I'm sure
Some abstracted shapes remind us of a real experience or association. This piece started off with only the right side rounded shapes and took quite a turn when I added the more linear shapes on the left. I immediately loved the contrast but then the brain starts making real-life associations. What does it remind me of? (Sometimes I'm ok with that and sometimes I don't love it! Why can't I just stay focused on loving the abstract for the abstract?) I thought about windchimes. I thought about a puppeteer. But ultimately, I knew that it felt spidery to me. Like maybe this abstracted gentlement is introducing himself. So I leaned into that a little bit for the title. Overally, though, what I love are the surprising combinations.
